Next Generation Networking or Networking 2.0 and Network Agnosticism
What do these expressions mean? They are terms coined to explain what makes the groups in the Link_USA family, different.
<b>Network Agnosticism</b> refers to the fact that at Link_USA we don't care where you maintain your online professional and social networks. You can keep you network on PNOL, LinkedIn, Xing, Doostang, Facebook, ecademy, Marzar, Plaxo Pulse or one of the many other new networks popping up there almost monthly. Many of you have networks on several platforms, but if you do business in the USA, any state or metro area you should be on Link_USA. Pretty bold statement for a group that is just starting up. It begs the question WHY!?
Which brings us to the definition of <b>Next Generation Networking or Networking 2.0</b>. Link_USA is a synergy of the best of on-line business and social networking. NGN or N2.0 is taking the current model for online networking of LinkedIn et. al. and brings it back to the local level, where most business is done.
What good are 500+ connections if all they are to you are a collection of email addresses. Networking is about building relationships. Link_USA leverages modern day online networking, and brings it back the metro area. Then we take it circle, <i>"kicking it old School"</i> as my eldest son would say, with monthly "Live" events where you get to meet your online connections face to face and accelerate relationship building.
Groups like Linkedin can be inflexible and can make connecting difficult. Did you know you can be banned for trying to connect to people you don't know? <i>(I thought the idea behind networking was grow your network beyond the people you already know?)</i> Groups like facebook are just not made for business...vampire bites, need I say more?
Our model has changed some over the last year. We started with Link_Atlanta a group for the only major metro area in the state of Georgia. Next came <a href="http://linktexas">Link_Texas</a>, and <a href="http://linkflorida.ning.com">Link_Florida</a> with a state level group and sub groups for all the major metro area. Today we have <a href="http://linkusa.ning.com">Link_USA.</a>
The concept for Link_USA is quite simple. With Link_USA you have every state in the Union and it's territories and all the major metro areas all in one group! That means 1 Login, 1 Password, and only one interface to have to learn to navigate.
So for example, let's say you live in Connecticut, work in metro NYC and your corporate offices are in Dallas. You have been successful so you are lucky enough to have a 2nd home in Tampa. With Link_USA you get Link_New England, Link_Connecticut, Link_NY, Link_NJ, Link_Texas, Link_DFW, Link_Florida and Link_Tampa. All in one group! Your company offers you the opportunity to start up the new Phoenix office, so you can go to Link_Arizona and Link_Phoenix! That's the concept and with your help we will make it work. I hope you will check it out and help grow it.
Respectfully,
Chuck Z.
